How big is your mathematics?

This talk addresses the following simple problem in probability:
a bag contains 16 billiard balls, some white and the remainder red. Two
balls are drawn at the same time. It is equally likely that the two
balls will be of the same colour as it is that they are different
colours. How many of each colour are there?
The solution uses the fundamental theorem of probability by de Finetti, and
is quite different than most every mathematician probabilist will routinely
answer.
