* The 8th Scientific Meeting of the Classification and Data Analysis Group
of the Italian Statistical Society*


Theme: Classification, Clustering, Data Analysis, Multivariate Analysis,
Computational statistics and their applications

CLADAG promotes advanced methodological research in multivariate statistics
with a special interest in Data Analysis and Classification. It supports the
interchange of ideas in these fields of research, including the
dissemination of concepts, numerical methods, algorithms, computational and
applied results. CLADAG organizes a biennial international scientific
meeting, schools related to classification and data analysis, publishes a
newsletter, and cooperates with other member societies of the IFCS in the
organization of their conferences.



This year’s conference will address, in particular, young statisticians,
whose presented papers will be  the subjects of a research prize
competition, and professionals, whose presented papers will be organized in
thematic sessions.





People who wish to submit a paper should send a tentative title by *January
31,2011* by filling in the on-line form. A short paper should be sent to the
Scientific Committee by *April 5, 2011 *– guidelines on the conference web
site.

Short Papers will be refereed. Accepted manuscripts will be published
in a *Book
of Short Papers.*

 Authors are encouraged to submit full papers after the conference. These
will be reviewed and, if accepted, published in a Proceedings volume by
Springer in the series ‘Studies in Classification, Data Analysis and
Knowledge Organization’.



 The conference will contain also a symposium on: “Reputation: a statistical
challenge?” This  satellite workshop will be devoted to listen, discuss and
understand how statistical methods can help quantifying this central topic
of today society. In the session  professional experts will discuss how to
practically measure reputation in different fields such as Business, Finance
and  the Academic sector.
