Ø Aims of the
workshop
The assessment of quantitative modelling tools for diagnostic
purposes in biopattern analysis should involve
multidisciplinary aspects.
The integration of clinical, biomedical informatics and biostatistical
competence
is crucial for facing challenges related to the exploitation of
complex data, coming for example from
high-throughput molecular techniques
and signal analysis. The major aim of the Workshop will be the integration
of methodological aspects of data analysis with specific clinical problems,
to be considered as possible benchmarks
for future research development
efforts.
Ø Short
description
A multidisciplinary workshop program connected to the
Integration Activities in the framework of the NoE Biopattern
is being
developed. Biomedical information scientists and Biostatisticians will jointly
provide with Clinicians
contributions in the perspective of sharing
experience and ideas, regarding the assessement of diagnostic procedures.
Plenary and specifically structured discussion sessions will involve invited
field experts, giving the participants the
opportunity to share their
views.
Ø Call
for papers
Participants are invited to present their work as a poster
which will be on display during the entire workshop and
discussed in
dedicated sessions. A proceedings book will be prepared including invited papers
and spontaneous
contributions, submitted for evaluation at the time of the
workshop. The official language will be English.
Abstracts have to be
submitted via e-mail to the secretariat of the workshop before May 30,
2004
The scientific committee will notify the acceptance of papers by June
15, 2004.
