Summer School 'Jacques Louis Lions'
Multidisciplinary Methods for Analysis, Optimization and Control of Complex
Systems

When and Where
Montecatini (Tuscany), Italy on March 17-22, 2003

Introduction:
Training young researchers and engineers in innovative mulidisciplinary
methods for advanced design, optimization and control; prepare researchers
to approach relevant problems which reflect the needs of society in the
spirit of the 6th Framework Programme
Multidisciplinary Areas:
- AERONAUTICS
- ENVIRONMENT
- MATERIALS
- TELECOMMUNICATIONS
- LIFE SCIENCES
Multi methods for multidisciplinary applications :
- MODELING
- COMPUTING
- OPTIMIZATION
- CONTROL

Programme
The programme should include :
- 4/5 main lecturers for a set of 5/6 lectures each
- 8/9 seminars
An outcome of the school will be a book of Lecture Notes published by an
international publisher (Springer Series on Mathematics in Industry )
