BIO-STATISTICIAN POST-DOC
POSITION The Italian Institute for Research on Food and Nutrition (INRAN) is looking for a bio-statistician (post-doc position for 2 years) that will be working in the Human Nutrition Unit. The Unit co-ordinates a range of different activities in the area of nutrition and health, such as: intervention studies on treatment and prevention of growth retardation, intervention studies on phytochemicals and health, nutrition surveillance studies in Italy and developing countries. Terms of reference ·
Subject
randomization and database set up in two EU funded intervention studies on the
use phytoestrogens in the prevention of chronic diseases. ·
Data analysis of intervention studies on nutrition and growth in
Sahara ·
Management of databases and data analyses of national nutrition surveys
in developing countries ·
Collaboration to the design of intervention studies and nurition
surveys Relationships
The scientist would be
integrated in a public health nutrition group, accountable to the group leader
Dr. Francesco Branca, and collaborate with six people involved in the projects.
The scientist woud meet regularly with other Unit members, with external
collaborators when needed, and with other expertise groups on overlapping tasks
Education
Preferably PhD Epidemiology or bio-statisitics. CVs will also be
considered if adequate research eperience has been carried
out. Skills

Expertise in epidemiological principles and methods, analysis of complex
databases ·
Excellent communication and writing skills ·
Team commitment, entrepreneurial drive, good at tackling complicated
problems Working experience Experience in research equivalent to PhD. Contractual terms A consultancy would be offered for 4 months, starting September
1st or October 1st. A post-doc contract would then be
