                                    Adaptive Network-Based Sampling


  Abstract: In studies of hidden and hard-to-reach human populations
  it is often necessary for investigators
  to follow social links or use other innovative and unconventional
  methods to obtain a sufficiently large sample of people
  from the population.  These sampling designs are
  adaptive in that the procedure for selecting the sample depends
  on what is encountered during the study.  Developments in
  design and inference methods for such studies will be discussed.
