"Test" starts as 36 in stats statistical journals

Dear colleagues,

As you are surely aware, the Institute for Scientific Information publishes
a yearly rank of impact of statistical journals, the Citaion Index. In many countries, this is the basic tool to judge the research output of academic people.
A new journal has to be published without interruption for 7 years before
it is ranked.

"Test" was created in 1992 by the Spanish Society of Statistics and OR, and I served as Editor for the first two periods.

"Test" has now appeared for the first time in the ranking of the Citation Index. It is number 36 in a list of 64 jopurnals of statistics which qualify, above some older, well established journals such as Letters, J. Statist. Planning Inf., J. Multiv. Analysis, Ann. Inst. Stat. Math, etc.

This is to thank all those who helped this to happen (authors, associate editors, referees,..) and to encourage you to continue submitting your work
to one of the present Co-Editors:
