Call for Papers

Stat.Edu21 focuses on the new frontiers in learning and teaching Statistics in Higher Education. There has been an increasing interest in using technology to support students in learning processes in recent years. Technology-based platforms to assist traditional learning methodologies have been implemented. Among them, new tools and innovative approaches aim to implement adaptive environments for advising in learning Statistics, focusing on students enrolled in human and social degree programs. In this sense, the ALEAS – Adaptive LEArning in Statistics system offers customized learning paths to help these students cope with statistical anxiety and lack of motivation.

The conference is the final event of the “ALEAS – Adaptive LEArning in Statistics” ERASMUS+ project. It is aimed at sharing results about the impact of the ALEAS and promote a community of practice in the field and is organized jointly by the University of Naples Federico II and ALEAS Consortium. Due to the still severe concern around the coronavirus (COVID-19), the event will be held as a live virtual event on 25-26 March 2021.

The conference welcomes the submission of papers with preference to the topics listed in the call for papers. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field that are part of the Program Committee. The papers must consist of original, relevant, and previously unpublished sound research efforts related to any conference topics.

Accepted papers will be included in the Stat.Edu21 Proceedings – New perspectives in Statistics Education published by FEDOAUniversity Press <http://www.fedoabooks.unina.it/index.php/fedoapress/catalog/series/quassus>. A selection of full papers will be published, after a rigorous but fast review process, in a Thematic Issue of Statistica Applicata - Italian Journal of Applied Statistics <https://www.sa-ijas.org/ojs/index.php/sa-ijas>.
