We invite applications for Senior Research Associate positions to work on the StatScale Programme.

StatScale is an exciting collaboration between researchers at Lancaster University and the University of Cambridge. The programme is led by Idris Eckley, Paul Fearnhead (Lancaster) and Richard Samworth, Rajen Shah (Cambridge). StatScale tackles the important inference challenges arising from streaming data. This multi-million pound research initiative is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the two participating institutions and a number of committed project partners. To find out more about the programme, please visit: www.statscale.org.

You should have a PhD in Statistics or a related discipline. You will be experienced in one of more of the following areas: anomaly detection, Bayesian and computational statistics, changepoint analysis, non-stationary time series analysis, high dimensional statistics, statistical-computational tradeoffs, signal processing or novel inference methods for streaming data. Demonstrable ability to produce academic writing of the highest publishable quality is essential. Experience of developing research-level software is desirable but not essential.

Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to contact Professor Idris Eckley (i.eckley a lancaster.ac.uk) and/or Professor Paul Fearnhead (p.fearnhead a lancaster.ac.uk) in advance of making an application.
