WORKSHOP ON "SMALL AREA METHODS AND LIVING CONDITIONS INDICATORS IN
EUROPEAN POVERTY STUDIES IN THE ERA OF DATA DELUGE AND BIG DATA". PISA,

The JEAN MONNET CHAIR SAMPLEU in close collaboration with the CONSORTIUM
MAKSWELL (Making Sustainable Development and Well-being frameworks work
for policy) and the CENTRE ASESD CAMILO DAGUM is organising the Workshop
on "Small Area Methods and living conditions indicators in European
poverty studies in the era of data deluge and Big data" on 8-10 of May
2018. The workshop hosts the Makswell reflection event on "Future
research needs in terms of statistical methodologies and new data" as
the strategic goals of the project includes the topics developed by the
Chair. The workshop aims to explore how current scientific advances on
studying and monitoring of poverty and living conditions in various
dimensions are linked in order to support EU regional policies.

CALL FOR PAPERS - The Committee invites submissions of contributed
papers and/or posters on the area of interest, both theoretical and
applied, and they will be included in the program after acceptance.
Authors wishing to present a poster are invited to submit an abstract
from 3 to 5 pages long. Ideally, they should describe: the substantive
problem and the data analysed (if any), as well as the approach and
models used. They should also include a clear statement of the main
results and conclusions and the most important key references.
