ISI (International Statistical Institute), insieme ad altre associazioni
statistiche (soprattutto American Statistical Association e Royal
Statistical Society) e a numerosi statistici, promuove da anni una
campagna a favore di Andreas Georgiou, gia' capo di ELSTAT, l'agenzia
nazionale di Statistica in Grecia. Vi segnalo questa intervista a
Georgiou, curata anche da John Bailer, prossimo Presidente dell'ISI.

  The continuing prosecution of Andreas Georgiou, former head of
the Greece's National Statistical Agency, ELSTAT, has generated support
from the international statistical community. Over 80 former chief
statisticians signed a statement
<http://www.iaos-isi.org/index.php/latestnews/221-80-former-chief-statisticians-condemn-prosecution-of-andreas-georgiou>
calling on the Greek State to stop this prosecution and to support the
production of "reliable official statistics with independence and
impartiality."  A conversation with Andreas Georgiou is featured on this
