*Topics:*The lecture is on methodological issues in the framework of 
panel surveys,  most of the examples deal with inequality and 
transitions between poverty states: issues of panel surveys, pattern 
mixture models, the fade-away of an initial nonresponse bias, 
measurement issues, discussion.

*Short Bio*

Ulrich Rendtel, PhD,, is Professor of Applied Statistics at the School 
of Business and Economics, Freie Universität Berlin. He, has worked at 
the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics at Freie Universität 
Berlin since 2003. His research interests include official statistics 
and econometrics. More specifically, he has done work on panel surveys, 
nonresponse and attrition, measurement error, imputation, weighting and 
calibration. An active member of the statistics community, he is a 
member of the German Council of Social and Economic Data, the German 
Statistical Society and the International Statistical Institute.
