*Second call for visiting grants*
In October 2017, the second call for transnational access will be
available on the InGRID website. In this call, visiting grants are
offered for 11 of the InGRID research infrastructures: IECM (Centre
d'Estudis Demogrąfics, Barcelona), POLC (TĮRKI, Budapest), DIW-SOEP
(Berlin), EUROMOD-ISER (University of Essex), SOFI (University of
Stockholm), CSB (University of Antwerp), HIVA (KU Leuven), CEET-CNAM
(Paris), CELSI (Bratislava), UT (University of Trier), UNIPI-DEM
(University of Pisa). These free-of-charge visits can contain between 5
and 15 working days and visitors can receive a partial reimbursement of
travel costs and a subsistence allowance.
Each of the host institutes has expertise in and access to leading
European (comparative) datasets or expertise in working with
specialised statistical techniques for social sciences research. During
a visit users get the opportunity to work together with experts from the
host institution on their own project, receive access to, and support
and guidance in the use of the data, advice on methodological questions
and on the progress of their project. Candidates can apply for a
visiting grant through the online application form.
Deadline for applications: 11 December 2017

*Data forum on ‘Harmonisation and uses of European microdata’***
During the four-year project, InGRID partners will organise eight data
forums to reach out to data providers, research users and stakeholders
to discuss challenges of particular data types and suitable actions to
answer them. Topics of the data forums are data on household finances,
census data, the WageIndicator websurvey data, and national working
conditions surveys.
The data forum on ‘Harmonisation and uses of European microdata’ will
bring together representatives from European statistical institutes and
researchers with strong experience in cross-national comparative data to
discuss innovation and solutions to integrate labour force survey
microdata for the study of poverty, work, and living conditions. The
data forum will consist of six sessions of five presentations each,
alternating between sessions of data users and data producers.
Participation is only on invitation.
