Salary £30747 to £52347 pa - Grade 7/8/9

We are seeking to appoint two statisticians to the Centre for Health &
Environmental Statistics to contribute to research and teaching in Applied
Statistics. The Centre has a research program in the areas of risk
assessment and screening, clinical trials methodology and genetic and
environmental statistics. Our work in these areas is funded largely from
external research grants and contracts.

You would be encouraged and supported to secure external income and
develop your career as well as contributing to the Research Excellence
Framework submission. You would also be expected to contribute to
undergraduate teaching in Applied Statistics and continuing the
professional development course for health professionals.

This is a full time post, working on a fixed-term basis for 3 years in the
first instance with the possibility of extension, subject to funding.

Research Fellow - Applied Statistics/Epidemiology

Salary £30747 to £35646 pa - Grade 7

We have a vacancy for an applied statistician or epidemiologist working to
support a growing portfolio of research projects in genetic and
environmental epidemiology. Good communication skills are essential and a
working knowledge of R, S-PLUS, and WinBUGS are desirable. The work will
involve input to study design, development of statistical methodology,
statistical computing and data analysis.

This is a full time post, working on a fixed-term basis for 3 years in the
first instance with the possibility of extension, subject to funding.
