"Statistics of all: Statistical literacy in the information society" Four conferences about how to read and interpret statistics © 2004 The materials are permited to be used and reproduced only for didactical purposes and not for commercial purposes, mentioning the origin, the authors and contributors. Department of Statistics of University of Perugia and the Interuniversity Research Centre for Statistical Education (CIRDIS) have realized the project "Statistics of all - Statistical literacy in the information society". The project has been founded by MIUR (Ministry of Instruction, Research and University) within initiatives for spreading scientific literacy. The aim of the project is to contribute to spreading of statistical literacy among young people, mainly upper secondary school students, so to make them acquire a higher consciousness significance of statistical methods in the scientific research, in the economic life, in business activities and, generally, in the information society. The four conferences regarded topics of great actuality (statistics in the mass media, official statistics, measure of inflation, scientific polls) referring all citizens and, particularly upper secondary school students and teachers. The conferences have been taken in the period november 2003 - february 2004 at the "Hall of participation" of Regional Counsel (Cesaroni Palace) in Perugia.
