Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the field of
mathematical modelling of biological invasions. The position is funded
by the New Zealand Institute of Mathematics and its Applications
(NZIMA). There is also an annual budget of $5,000 for expenses relating
to the fellowship.

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD in mathematics,
statistics or another highly numerate discipline, preferably with an
emphasis in either mathematical or stochastic modelling. They will be
competent in using computational methods and have good communication
skills and written English. They must also have an interest in the study
of biological systems and be willing to undertake collaborations with
scientists from more experimental backgrounds.

There will be opportunities for the fellow to participate in
undergraduate teaching. Attendance at relevant conferences will be
encouraged (within the limits of the provided travel budget).
