CORSO ESTIVO DI STATISTICA E CALCOLO DELLE PROBABILITA'
Torgnon (AO), 1-20 luglio 2002
L'Istituto di Metodi Quantitativi dell'Università Bocconi di Milano,
proseguendo nell'esperienza degli scorsi anni, ha organizzato il Corso
Estivo di Statistica e Calcolo delle Probabilità per l'anno 2002, su:
"INFERENCE FOR STOCHASTIC PROCESSES".
Le lezioni saranno tenute dal Professor B.L.S. Prakasa Rao (Indian
Statistical Institute, New Delhi, India), e dal Professor Anand
Vidyashankar (University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, U.S.A.).
I posti disponibili sono 20, di cui 4 riservati a studenti stranieri. Una
commissione coordinata dal Direttore del Corso vaglierà le domande e
deciderà l'ammissione in base al curriculum e alle "altre informazioni"
specificate nella domanda di ammissione. Verrà in ogni modo data la
preferenza a giovani ricercatori che abbiano conseguito la laurea da almeno
due anni.
Le spese per il vitto e l'alloggio dei partecipanti sono a carico
dell'Università Bocconi.
Al termine del Corso verrà rilasciato un attestato di frequenza.
La domanda di ammissione dovrà pervenire entro il 21 maggio 2002.

models for Markov processes; Quasilikelihood and empirical likelihood
inference and large sample properties; Applications to clinical trials;
Hidden Markov chains and related inference.
2 Branching processes:
Basic concepts; likelihood and distance based inference; Non-homogeneous
branching
processes; Branching regression models; Quasilikelihood and empirical
likelihood inference; Applications to PCR data; clinical trials;
Applications in Finance.
3 Tree Structured Processes:
Statistical methods for tree structured data; Applications in cell biology
and internet traffic.
4 Brownian motion and diffusion:
Model description; Likelihood based inference; Inference from discretely
observed data; Applications to finance models.
