GENERAL INVITATION FOR CALL FOR PAPERS

We invite proposals and call for papers for Sessions in addition to the Conference Invited Sessions. Proposed Sessions should have at least three speakers including that of the Session Organizer.

Contributed and Poster Session papers are also encouraged from young researchers, international researchers, practitioners, and underrepresented groups, such as women and ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities and graduate students in one of the above topical areas to preserve the theme of the Conference.

Proposals for Sessions should have:
the title of the session
the names of the tentative speakers,
the titles of the papers.

All authors must submit their papers in an abstract form to be considered. Each submission must contain a short abstract of 300 words maximum, and up to 6 keywords. The abstract should be in plain text and include the title, list of authors (names, affiliations, postal and e-mail addresses, and a fax number of the corresponding author) under the title of the paper to be presented. Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged in the form of Postscript, Microsoft Word, PDF, or LaTeX files.

Abstract should be sent via e-mail to: bozdogan@utk.edu , bensmail@utk.edu , and stat_dmconference2002@utk.edu between now and no later than March 20, 2002. All abstracts and proposals  will be carefully screened and evaluated by the Conference Program Committee. Notifications to authors in terms of accepting and/or rejecting the proposals and abstracts will be carried out in a timely fashion.
Electronic Full Paper Submission
Authors of all accepted abstracts should send 15-20 pages full paper along with an electronic copy by May 1, 2002. Details for electronic paper preparation will be posted on the Conference web site as details become available. Conference Proceedings is planned to be published as a book by a prestigious publisher. Guidelines for authors to prepare their manuscripts will be provided on the Conference web site (http://stat.bus.utk.edu/conference/) for downloading.

All invited, contributed, and poster session papers will be evaluated, refereed and considered for publication. Rigorous review process and uniformity of contributions will be followed throughout.

AUTOMOBILE TRAVELERS

For automobile travelers, Knoxville is located in the heart of the Tennessee Valley in the midst of one of the most scenic areas in the eastern United States: the Great Smoky Mountains lie to the southeast, the Cumberland Mountains to the northwest, and the TVA Great Lakes of the South in all directions. Knoxville is accessible by interstate highways I-81, I-40, and I-75 and is within 500 miles of 76 percent of America's population. A map is attached to this announcement.
