Dear all,

The Florence Center for Data Science through the Department of
Statistics, Informatics, Applications (DISIA) "G. Parenti" of the
University of Florence promotes the II level Master in: 

DATA SCIENCE AND STATISTICAL LEARNING - MD2SL [1] 

organized in collaboration with the Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca. 

Basic Information:  

HEADQUARTERS: Florence and Lucca 

DURATION: 12 months (01 February 2022 - 31 January 2023) 

APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 15, 2021 - 1.00 PM 

PARTICIPATION FEE: Euro 4,500.00 (in two instalments) - Registration fee
for single modules: Euro 100.00 / CFU. 

SCHOLARSHIPS: at least 3 scholarships for an amount equal to the
registration fee are available. More information will be available

Who is it for? 

The MD2SL is aimed at graduates with skills in statistics, mathematics,
programming/computer science and with a knowledge of the English
language at a B2 level. The Master is for all those who want to answer
research questions coming from the pervasive presence of complex,
unstructured and high-dimensional data. 

What does it offer 

The Master's program trains well-rounded professionals: Data Scientists,
starting from a degree in quantitative disciplines to reach a higher
level of theoretical and practical skills in statistics, mathematics and
IT, thanks to the multidisciplinary nature of Data Science tools. The
225 hours of internship at the end of the courses prepare students to
find possible employment in public administrations and local
authorities, data analysis units of medium and large enterprises,
insurance companies, marketing offices of production and distribution
companies, research centres and consulting companies. On the other hand,
thanks to the solid theoretical foundations of the courses, students
will be ready to access doctoral programs related to the topics covered,
both in Italy and abroad.
