Short description of the position/project:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and talented clinical epidemiologist to join the leadership team of the Cooperative Health Research In South Tyrol (CHRIS) study at the Eurac Research Institute for Biomedicine in Bolzano.
Led by Prof. Peter Pramstaller and Dr. Cristian Pattaro, the CHRIS study is a longitudinal population-based study on >13,000 individuals with ongoing follow-up, and extensive molecular phenotypes, genetic data, and health-related information. The study aims at elucidating the molecular basis of cardiometabolic and neurological health as well as finding solutions for prevention and treatment. The CHRIS study is continuously growing its scientific profile through strict collaborations with top-ranked international institutions and collaborators in Europe and US.
The post holder will work together with the principal investigators to conduct the study, design follow-up studies, and implement efficient solutions for standardized and high quality data collection. The post holder will also coordinate a team of researchers and have access to a variety of large and complex datasets, providing opportunities to set research questions, collaborate internally and externally to Eurac Research and publish in high quality journals. The position is initially offered for three years.

Tasks:

  *   Design and conduction of epidemiological studies
  *   Identification and implementation of practical solutions for several study designs
  *   Definition of standard operative procedures and data quality control routines
  *   Liaison with hospital clinicians to define study procedures
  *   Networking with scientific and non-scientific partners and stakeholders
Requirements:

  *   At least five year post-doc experience in epidemiology or public health;
  *   Proven experience in the scientific and applied conduct of population-based studies
  *   Strong problem solving skills
  *   Team leading experience and excellent relational attitude
  *   English fluency and command of either Italian or German language
  *   Good publication record
  *   Good knowledge of high level data analysis software such as R or Stata
  *   Holding an MD degree is not required but will be an advantage
