Title: A robust approach to confounder adjustment in epidemiological
studies of continuous outcomes
Abstract
Background:
Epidemiological studies of binary or time-to-event outcomes commonly use
some form of matching to adjust for confounding. For example, the exposed
and unexposed subjects in a cohort design, or the cases and controls in a
case-control design may be matched on their confounder profile, and
conditional likelihood used to estimate the adjusted exposure effect. The
benefit of these designs is that the functional form of the confounders
does not need to be modelled. This talk will extend the commonly used
regression models in matched designs for binary and survival outcomes
(i.e., conditional logistic and stratified Cox) to studies of continuous
outcomes through a novel interpretation and application of logit-based
regression models from the econometrics and marketing research literature.
L’invito è aperto a tutti gli interessati.
