Call for Papers:   Special Issue on Statistics and Data 
Science: new Developments for Business and Industrial 
Applications


The official journal of ISBIS, the International Society 
for Business and Industrial Statistics, Applied Stochastic 
Models in Business and Industry (ASMBI),

is inviting contributions for a special issue devoted to 
advances in Statistics for Data Science, following the 
Joint Meeting of SIS SDS Group and itENBIS: S&Ds 2018 - 
Statistics and Data Science: new Developments for Business 
and Industrial Applications, 
http://www.sds2018.polito.it/.
The objective of the issue is to present recent 
developments in Statistics that are relevant to 
successfully address problems typically faced by Data 
Scientists. The focus will be on the interface between 
Statistics and other disciplines, relevant for data 
science, big Data and other analytics projects, with 
emphasis on applications in business and industry and in 
line with the usual topics of ASMBI

Papers should present either innovative methodologies in 
Data Science, or forceful applications of existing 
methods. Submissions are not restricted to papers 
presented at the S&Ds 2018 meeting. All submissions will 
go through the standard, selective review process of 
ASMBI. Submissions are possible until November 1st, 2018 
through the website http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/asmb.
Please follow the ASMBI author submission guidelines given 
on the ASMBI website and clicking on the box about 
submissions for special issues, mentioning "S&Ds 2018” 
when requested.

The Guest Editors of the special issue will be  Nicola 
Torelli (nic.torelliAtdeams.units.it) and  Grazia Vicario 
(grazia.vicarioATpolito.it).  For any information about
