Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce that we are organising next year’s Survival
Analysis for Junior Researchers conference! This three-day event (24-26
April, 2018) is aimed at career-young statisticians with an interest in the
application and development of time-to-event analysis and related topics.
The conference provides a unique opportunity for participants to present
and discuss their work with peers at a similar stage in their careers in a
relaxed and friendly environment.

SAfJR2018 will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about
survival analysis methods. Prof. dr. Hein Putter (Leiden University Medical
Center) will give a tutorial on multi-state models, and the keynote talks
will be by Dr. Maja Pohar Perme (University of Ljubljana) and Dr. Birgit
Lissenberg-Witte (VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam). Furthermore,
participants will present their own work during oral and poster
presentations.

All previous editions were hosted in the United Kingdom. During last year’s
conference at Leicester University, we proposed to organise the next
edition and invited everyone to the Netherlands. Delegates will be able to
experience some of the more charming parts of Leiden, as the conference
takes place in De Burcht and social events include a welcome reception by
the mayor of Leiden at the city hall, and dinner at the historic Waag
building.

This conference is sponsored by Prof.dr. J.J. Meulman (on behalf of the
Statistical Science Master programme) and the Royal Statistical Society.
More information can be found on the attached flyer or the conference
website (SAfJR2018.com <http://www.safjr2018.com/>).

Kind regards,

Anja, Stéphanie, and Sanne
