ITACOSM 2017

>From 14 to 16 June 2017, ITACOSM 2017 – the 5th ITAlian COnference on
Survey Methodology, will take place at the Department of Statistical
Sciences of the University of Bologna.

ITACOSM is a bi-annual international conference promoted by the Survey
Sampling Group (S2G) of the Italian Statistical Society whose aim is
promoting methodological and applied research in survey sampling in human
as well as natural sciences.

The subtitle of ITACOSM 2017 is “Building bridges” among academia,
companies, national and international institutions on problems related to
survey sampling and between survey sampling and other topics, in order to
analyse similarities and differences and conceive a common framework.

ITACOSM 2017 will include plenary (invited) sessions on very relevant
themes, specialized (invited) sessions on specific topics, contributed
sessions, and poster sessions.

*Call for papers and deadlines:*

Authors wishing to present a contributed paper or a poster are invited to
submit *an abstract.*

*Abstracts *should be submitted in pdf format and sent, as attachments, to
the email address elisabetta.carfagna a unibo.it

*Abstracts* should be one A4 page long and should describe the substantive
problem, the approach adopted and main results and conclusions.

*No invitation letters will be provided.*

The Committee invites submission of contributed papers/posters on topics
related to survey sampling methodology. Main specific topics are listed
below.

   - Sample design
   - Sampling and non-sampling errors
   - Missing data
   - Opinion polls
   - Data production
   - Survey sampling and design of experiments
   - Data quality
   - Data integration
   - Small area estimation
   - Quantile models and their application in sample survey data
   - Estimation issues from complex sample designs
   - Sample surveys for sensitive data
   - Spatial sampling and use of remote sensing data
   - Emerging challenges in survey statistics
   - Web survey/web data collection
   - Adaptive sample designs
   - Association structure in complex sample surveys
   - Administrative registers, big data and sample surveys

Accepted papers will be included in the program.
