We are pleased to announce the Sixth International Workshop on Social

ABOUT
ARS?17 is the sixth of a successful series. It aims at presenting the  
most relevant results and the most recent methodological developments  
in Social Network Research.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT AND POSTERS
  The workshop aims:
- to cover more of Social Network Analysis themes including  
application to different areas;
- to deepen existing scientific cooperation between social network analysts;
- to establish new cooperation between researchers;
- to provide a multi-disciplinary forum for exchange of ideas;
- to provide Ph.D. students and young researchers in the field of  
social network analysis with a forum for presenting their innovative  
work.

ARS'17 Scientific Commettee  invites anybody with an interest in the  
themes of the conference or related ones to submit a paper to the  
workshop.
The papers may include the following topics though not limited to them:

Clustering on networks: community detection, blockmodeling
Collaboration Networks
Complex Network, Multiplex Networks, Multilevel Networks
Cultural Networks
Dynamics and evolution patterns of large and complex networks
Economic and Geographic Network
Issues in data collection
Knowledge and innovation networks
Methods for Social and media analysis
Models for network data
Network analysis in human and social sciences
Network Visualization
Political networks - Social movements and civic organization networks
Statistical Methods for the network analysis
Trade networks
The YoungARS group invites graduate and PhD students to submit a  
poster according to the paper submission deadlines.
Accepted posters will be included into the "speed poster session", a  
lightning talk to promote posters during the conference. They will  
also be enrolled into the competition for the Best Poster Award.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

Short course
A short course on "Multilevel longitudinal network analysis" will be  
offered on May 15. The course will be taught by Tom Snijders, Oxford  
University. Details are at http://www.ars17.unisa.it/shortcourse

Publications
- a selection of original papers will be published in a volume edited  
by an international publisher and/or in special issues of  
international journals

- extended papers based on the Poster Track organized by the YoungARS  
group will be encouraged to be submitted to the special issue of the  
Italian Journal of Applied Statistics:
"Analysing Social Networks: Methods and Applications" - guest editors:  
A. Ferligoj, M.P. Vitale, D. De Stefano and L. Kronegger
More information on the speed poster session and the special issue  
will be provided to the authors of the accepted submissions.
