====================
Post-doc positions Department of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics at
Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC).

We are looking for a full time post-doc for 2 years to work on a project
concerning Meta-analysis of individual patient data (IPD) to investigate
dose-intensity relation with survival outcome for osteosarcoma patients.

Function: The candidate will work on the development of statistical
methodology to analysis the relation between complex dose-intensity given
to osteosarcoma patients and survival outcomes. A second part of the
project concerns an IPD meta-analysis for competing risks outcomes which
will provide clinicians with information about probabilities of second
malignancy. This problem requires the development of proper statistical
methodology in the context of competing risks for IPD data.
The last part of the research will focus on the estimation of a multi-state
model for osteosarcoma patients.
Results coming from these analysis will be fundamental and help clinicians
to make future decisions about the best use of conventional drugs in a
regimen for osteosarcoma treatment in terms of highest efficacy and minimum
toxicity.

Background: A candidate should have (a master in mathematics or statistics
and) a PhD in biostatistics. Some experience in the analysis of survival
data is required. Good programming skills in R (or Stata, SAS) , fluent
written and spoken English are mandatory. For this project the candidate
will be closely working with the department of oncology at LUMC. Therefore
good communication skills are essential since results coming from this
piece of research will be used as guidelines in the international clinical
community to treat children and adults with osteosarcoma.
