CONFERENCE AIMS
GRASPA 2015 is the biennial conference of the Italian research group for
Environmental Statistics GRASPA-SIS and the major event on Environmental
Statistics in Italy. GRASPA 2015 is also the 2015 European regional
conference of The International Environmetrics Society and a connected
event of the Spatial Statistics 2015 Conference. GRASPA 2015 endorses
co-operation among statisticians, academics from environmental sciences as
well as practitioners from government and independent environmental
agencies creating a space for the exchange of experiences and ideas on
various aspects relevant to the protection of the natural environment.
GRASPA 2015 is an opportunity to share research interests related to the
development and the use of statistical methods in environmental sciences,
fostering methodological developments and applications in various
environmental fields.

CONFERENCE VENUE
The main conference venue will be the hall of frescoes at Palazzo Ateneo in
Piazza Umberto I. Palazzo Ateneo is located in the center of the city of
Bari, very close to the railway station and to transport and hotels
facilities. Palazzo Ateneo is the historical building of Università degli
Studi di Bari Aldo Moro and is currently the location of the Dean and the
main administration offices and of some humanities departments.
The Bari International Airport, Aeroporto di Bari "Karol Wojtyla", has
regular and low-cost flights to many Italian and European destinations. It
is about 10 km far from the city center that can be easily reached by
train, bus or taxi.
The city of Bari stands ashore with its white limestone castle and the
Basilica of Saint Nicholas, built in the heart of the historical town as a
giant shrine sheltering the relics of the Saint. The territory of Bari is
bejeweled by UNESCO world heritage Trulli in Alberobello and several
medieval cities overlooking the beautiful southern Adriatic coast. Visiting
Puglia allows spending beautiful and relaxing vacations at close touch with
inspiring history from Gargano and Daunia down to Salento. Almost 50 Km
away is the fascinating town of Matera with the renown extensive
cave-dwelling districts, the sassi, UNESCO world heritage and 2019 European
Capital of Culture candidate city.

PROGRAM, SUBMISSIONS AND DATES
The Scientific Program will include keynote and invited talks, oral
presentations and poster presentations.
Submission of oral and poster short papers: 15 December 2014 - 15 March 2015
Short papers should consist of about four pages, will be submitted online
through the Open Conference GRASPA 2015 web site and will be peer-reviewed.

PROCEEDINGS
A Book of Abstracts will be printed. The Proceedings including all
participant short papers will be published online in the GRASPA Working
Papers Series (with ISSN) and will include both oral and poster papers, in
the same format. A selection of invited/contributed papers will be made
available for submission and publishing in scientific journals.
