Dear Colleague,

this email to solicit your financial support for the crowd funding below
and your consideration about the development of statistical democracy.

STATISTICAL DEMOCRACY
In principle, democracy implies public accessibility to statistical
information in its richest form with the only limitation of
individual's privacy.
Of course, this calls for the problem about "who" collects and owns the
data (government agencies, independent ones, google ...). Hence, the
problem about "who" funds data collection, storage and access.

THE FACT
GRUAN, which is the reference upper air network (www.gruan.org), is trying
to establish a new measuremnt station in Bolivia, the first in South
America. These stations are usually locally funded, but not enough money
is available. So GRUAN is asking people to support this initiative.
