il gruppo di lavoro permanente GRASPA-SIS promuove e organizza la sessione
dal titolo STATISTICAL MODELING OF EMISSIONS AND AIR QUALITY del convegno
DUST 2014 (http://www.dust2014.org/) che si terrà a Castellaneta Marina
(TA) dall1 al 6 giugno 2014. Si segnala la scadenza del 20 dicembre p.v.
per la presentazione degli abstract di una pagina.

*STATISTICAL MODELING OF EMISSIONS AND AIR QUALITY*

Since May 2013 GRASPA (the Research Group for Statistical Applications to
Environmental Problems) is a permanent working group of SIS (the Italian
Statistical Society). One of the main objectives of GRASPA is the spread of
the awareness of statistical methods and advanced stochastic modeling among
environmental policy makers and experts of related fields. Environmental
statistics is obtaining increasing interest and consideration by local and
national authorities in view of defining general protocols for air quality
analysis and assessment. GRASPA members have an established reputation on
the analysis of spatio-temporal pollutant concentration data, mostly
working in the framework of stochastic models. Spatio-temporal and causal
dynamics of particulate matter concentrations on daily or finer temporal
scales are well represented in the framework of stochastic models that can
be used for prediction and interpolation on high resolution lattices over
regions of interest.
