Abstract:
In this presentation, we describe three applications of spin weighted
spherical harmonics to real-life problems. They are as follows.
1.Expansions of vector-valued deterministic functions on the two-dimensional
unit sphere.
2.Spectral expansion of the stochastic intensity tensor field of the Cosmic
Microwave Background.
3.Spectral expansions of the stochastic convergence, shear, and two
gravitational flexion fields in Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker
cosmological models.
