Call for papers

MBC2  – An International workshop on 

Model Based Clustering and Classification

Catania (Italy), September 6-7th, 2012 

 

The workshop aims at providing a focus on the state-of-the-art research in the field of model based clustering and classification as well as a forum of scientific discussions and comparisons among young and senior researchers. The workshop will be held in Catania (Italy) on September 6-7th 2012 and takes places under the auspices of the Classification and Data Analysis Group (CLADAG) of the Italian Statistical Society. 

The scientific program includes 5 main invited lectures, 15 oral presentations and a poster session. Topics concern methodological, applied and computational issues in model based clustering and classification. 

The scientific program of the workshop is based on:



  a.. 5 main lectures (40’+20’ discussion) 
  b.. 15 contributed talks organized in 5 three-paper sessions (3 x 20’ + 30’ discussion) 
  c.. A poster session
Contributors are requested to submit a short paper concerning their research and some background literature (papers or technical reports).

Extended paper submission

After the workshop, papers can be submitted for publication in a special peer-reviewed issue of the Journal ADAC - Advances in Data Analysis and Classification.

 

Registration fee

The registration fee includes lunches, coffee breaks and workshop material. 

·         Standard registration (until June 30th, 2012): 120 euro.

·         Late registration (after June 30th, 2012): 150 euro.
