PACO training session

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

WORKSHOP “TRAINING IN CROSS-NATIONAL RESEARCH
  WITH LONGITUDINAL HOUSEHOLD PANELS

5. September - 17. September 1999

Departamento de Economia
UNIVERSIDAD Carlos III de Madrid
Getafe/Madrid

This workshop is organized by CEPS/INSTEAD in cooperation with Prof.
Cesar Alonso and Prof. Sergi Jimenez together with Prof. Javier
Ruiz-Castillo from Carlos III.

The Panel Comparability (PACO) project is a coordinated approach to
create an international comparative database integrating micro data from

various national longitudinal household panels over a larger number of
years.

The aim of the (PACO) training workshops is to enable social scientists
to turn regularly to cross-national and truly comparative panel data.
The researchers will become acquainted with the panel studies existing
in Europe, and meet with specialists in comparative research and panel
analyses. They will learn more about the various national taxation and
social security systems, the domestic labour markets, the way they
operate and how they affect the various groups and categories of people
within the total population.

The training session is intended for young researchers (under 35 years)
who plan to use panel data, are engaged in comparative research or will
undertake such work in future.

The PACO training course is organized jointly by CEPS/INSTEAD and
Departamento de Economia
UNIVERSIDAD Carlos III de Madrid Getafe. It is supported by the
