La Professoressa Jana Jureckova (Universita` Carlo, Praga) terra` un
ciclo di 3 lezioni presso il Dipartimento di Studi Economico-Finanziari
e Metodi Quantitativi (SEFEMEQ) dell'Universita` di Roma Tor Vergata sui
temi indicati qui di seguito.

  I lezione: Martedi`, 20 aprile, ore 14-16
 II lezione: Giovedi`, 22 aprile, ore 12-14
III lezione: Venerdi`, 23 aprile, ore 14-16


                          PROGRAM

1) Parametric and nonparametric models.  Invariance principle in
   hypotheses testing.  Ranks and order statistics as maximal invariants.

2) Basic properties of ranks and order statistics.  Hypotheses of
   randomness, symmetry in bivariate population and of independence in
   bivariate population; alternatives.  Locally optimal rank tests.

3) Two-sample rank tests (Wilcoxon, van der Waerden, median, Kolmogorov-
   Smirnov; Siegel-Tukey, quartile). Treatment of tests in the presence
   of ties.

4) Sign-rank tests for comparison of two treatments on paired
   observations (Wilcoxon, van der Waerden, sign test).  Rank tests for
   comparison of several treatments (Kruskal-Wallis, Friedman).

5) Rank tests of independence in bivariate models (Spearman, Kendall).

6) Rank tests of linear hypothesis in the linear regression model.

7) Some goodness-of-fit tests.
