The aims of the Centre CIRDIS is an Italian Interuniversity Research Centre for Statistical Education hosted by the Universities of Padova, Palermo, Perugia and Roma la Sapienza.
The Centre has been constituted on 1991 with the general objective of promoting the development of research on statistical education in Italy.
For this purpose the Centre:
- carries out research on statistical education at school and university
- cooperates with the official institutions to the initiatives to favour teachers training in statistics and to the initiatives related at the definition of curricula and methodologies of instruction
- favours the exchange of teaching materials and information on both national and international basis
- organizes meetings, seminaries, conferences on statistical education topics
- gives hospitality to teachers and researchers on statistical education that wish to come to the Centre for research purposes
- is a center of documentation of statistical teaching materials.
